Day 5 - Mike Hall joins the party!

So for the first time in doing these trips, a friend from Atlanta has joined me. Mike flew in this morning, we rendezvoused   and immediately headed into the Rockies! An hour into the trip we hit a hail storm (a first for me!) and let me tell you - hail and riding a motorcycle are not a good mix. I got a fat lip and my cheeks were beaten to a pulp but I was smiling the whole way. Here is a picture as we approached the hail storm:

Anyway the skies cleared after the hail and it turned into a beautiful day. I've said it before and I'll say it again - Colorado is one of the most beautiful places in the world. 

We rode through beautiful mountain country, stopped at "Black Canyon National Park" and then had a great Colorado style dinner. Sleep came easy and we both crashed hard. Tomorrow is another big day!
