I left my home at 1:35 pm today, drove down the alley, TOOK A LEFT, got on the connector and headed northwest towards Colorado and Montana. I really didn't expect to see much today - it was all interstate riding because besides a stop in Kansas City tomorrow to see my best friend from High School Dan and his Stephanie, I am just trying to get to Denver as fast as I can. In my book motorcycle riding doesn't get spectacular until you get to Denver, and that's 1500 miles from here. But on my ride I was reminded how much I love the Appalachian Mountains of TN and the long flowing fields of Kentucky. This is indeed beautiful country. I made it to Marion IL today. At the hotel I met some of the fine people of this town, famous for its Federal Prison and the place Al Capone died and Woody Haroldson's father is incarcerated. I am very glad to be here because I made it further than I expected to - I guess I was so excited to be back in the road I didn't want to stop!
I did not get to see the moon today and that's fine - with being at work this morning and the last minute packing and stopping twice for conference calls, etc. today was just too rushed. It takes time to relax and get into the groove of a trip like this and that why they made tomorrow, a day that will be a full of enjoyment. Oh how blessed am I to be able to be on the road for another mont like this! I am getting the band back together for another awesome month!!!! Thank you God!
