Day 6 - The Gods were here millions of years ago.

That's the only explanation. Arches National Park is amazing! Just look at this stone structure:

Tell me that the wall on the right doesn't look like the ruins of a giant wall over 500 ft tall! And they are all over the park. Look at this weird outcropping that looks like an attack by giant noses!

What an introduction to Utah. After freezing in the Colorado mountains last night we are now evaporating in the Utah desert. The high was only 93°F but after last nights 50° weather it felt as hot as hades!

Waking up in Silverton CO this morning, I grabbed a cup of coffee and sat outside in the cool mountain air on a stone bench just outside the hotel's entry door. It was so quiet my ears hurt. The sky was clear, the air was crisp and the morning dew made everything sparkle with the rising sun - it was a perfect mountain morning. My mind was silent; I just sat there sipping some good coffee with a smile on my face.  After a little while I noticed the street had been empty this whole time so I got up and went to the middle of the road and took this picture of the town:

                       Silverton, CO

I tell you, being present for moments like this, days like these, and with a deep appreciation for my friends, it sure does make this life ever so sweet.
